Make sure there are no hidden files, folders, or programs associated with QuickBooks. These files will be labeled with.qbw and.doc extensions.
Navigate to the folder where your QuickBooks files are stored. You can see the folder in the C drive.
To prevent QuickBooks from accessing your files during reinstallation, append "old" to the existing folder.
You can not rename the folder. This could indicate that some files are being used. In that case, select End Process for QBDBMgrN.exe, QBDBMgr.exe, QBCFMonitorService.exe, and Qbw32.exe from the Task Manager.
